Roghnu OKTA User Admin: New User Setup Guide

How to Set Up a New User in OKTA

This guide highlights the process of adding a new user in the Roghnu OKTA Admin Portal, ensuring seamless integration and access for your team.

Step 1: Log Into OKTA

  1. Go to roghnu.okta.com.

  2. Enter your OKTA "Username" and "Password" and Click "Sign In".

    Note: Your OKTA credentials are the same as those used for the Roghnu Data Portal and VPN (if applicable).

Step 2: Access Admin Features

  1. After logging in, click the "Admin" button to enter the customer administrator section.
Note: If you don’t see the "Admin" button, you’re not designated as a customer administrator. To gain access, submit a support ticket to Roghnu. Your request will be processed according to our security protocols.

Step 3: Complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  1. Choose your preferred MFA method and Click "Send Code" to receive the MFA code via your selected method (e.g., email, SMS, Google Authenticator).
  2. Enter the code in the "Enter Code" box and click "Verify".

Step 4: Navigate to the Users List

  1. Once logged in, you’ll start on the Dashboard page.
  2. Click the "Users" link to view your company’s user list.


Step 5: Add a New User

  1. On the People page, you’ll see all users—active, pending, and deactivated.
  2. Click the "Add person" button to initiate the process of adding a new user.


Step 6: Enter New User Information

  1. Fill in the required user details:

    • User type: Select "User".
    • First name and Last name: Enter the user’s first and last name.
    • Username: Use the user’s corporate email address, ensuring it matches the customer’s domain.
    • Primary email: Should be the same as the Username.
    • Secondary email: Optional.
    • Groups: Enter at least the Company Group. For VPN access, include the <Company Name>-VPNLimited group.
    • Password: Choose "Set by User".
    • Send user activation email now: Check this option to notify the new user via email.
  2. Click "Save" to complete the process, or "Save and Add Another" if you need to add more users.

    Note: VPN access allows users direct access to the customer’s database. Database credentials are required for access.

Step 7: Verify New User

  1. The new user will appear in the People list as "Pending" until they log in and confirm their credentials.

Step 8: Sign Out

  1. After completing your updates, remember to sign out by clicking on your account name in the upper right-hand corner.
